I too found this film enjoyable but very predictable, and I too feel that the violence of the flashback scenes prevents this from being the family viewing it would otherwise be. I do think it's a laudable attempt to bring the reality of Kenya past and present to a wider audience (my Kenyan viewing companion, however, was disappointed that they used West African music for this East African story).
