Wilburton Fireworks Display
When
7th November 2009
Where
Wilburton
Wilburton fireworks display has taken inspiration from the lunar landings for this year's Guy Fawkes night. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Apollo's flight the display has a moon theme, as well as all the entertainment you expect from bonfire night.
Fundraiser
As well as featuring some fantastic pyrotechnics the Wilburton fireworks display is set to music to create an atmospheric evening of entertainment. As the theme is space and the moon you can expect to hear the likes of Sting's Walking On The Moon as well as David Bowie and, of course, plenty of rockets.
Fairground
It's a major fundraising event so the organisers of the Wilburton fireworks display pull out all the stops to ensure its a jam-packed evening that will please all the family. Of course the fireworks are the main attraction but there's also a fairground for youngsters and for the older revellers there's a bar where you can order a warm toddy (or two!).
Bonfire
The traditional 5th November bonfire is lit just before the main Wilburton fireworks display starts and to keep the atmosphere crackling before the big event there'll be music and a barbecue serving up hotdogs and burgers. There's also hot and cold drinks stalls and novelties to keep the kids happy.
Beat The Rush
As always, this is a popular fireworks display so get there early and although there is parking on the site the organisers try to encourage as many people as possible to walk to the event which takes place on the Wilburton Recreation Ground.
The Wilburton fireworks display takes place from 6pm, 7th November 2009. Tickets cost £5 for adults, £2.50 for children. Advance tickets are available from Wilburton Post Office and Jenny Wrens on Broadway.
