This is just the most fantastic coffee place in Cambridge: a breath of fresh air in a town saturated with chains and watery coffee. In fact, since Costa opened down the road, it's just reinforced what an amazing, community-spirited place the Cambridge Coffee Company is. Solomon the Turkish owner does proper coffee (green coffee beans and everything), and if you're not in the mood for coffee, it's got to be one of their milkshakes (every time my youthful relatives come to visit, this is their first port of call). Oh, and did I mention the cakes? Try a piece of their gooey millionaires shortbread for that ultimate sugar rush -- the best by a mile. A really special place whether you're rushing past on your way to the station or lingering longer (i swear I have seen people in here day after day writing their books in here -- it has to be good if they keep coming back!)

It is so refreshing to find a coffee house that isn't so commercial! Here they do truly wonderful fair trade coffee yet it won't cost you the earth. The staff are always very polite and help make the place that it is.
