Friendly pub ,good food lunchtimes great tasting and good value.Fantastic real ales ,camra recommended for last 7 years.Landlord and staff are great fun don't miss it if you're in town.

Given that the beer is the most expensive in the town, I think, it is terrible quality.

They have a selection, but obviously either don't know or don't care about keeping it well.

The Kings Arms up the road only has about 3 beers, but they are good quality. And the barmaids are unfriendly. Nice building though.

The oeg is the best place in saffron Walden for a drink! the kings arms doesn't clean out their beer lines and you you better take your own glass as they don't even have a glass washer!! The oeg has great food and the staff are always smiling and don't take any crap!! I absolutely love it! and will pick the oeg over any pub in walden for food and drink!! Great wine selection!
