...unfortunately i worked here as a waitress...i know that everything is unhygienic and dangerous for one's health...the owners are really unpolite and rude...i don't know how they can have 3 restaurants in which many things are illegal...after my experience i decided to do something because often i was forced to serve rancid and bad food and to do things that aren't correct in a restaurant and...according to my opinion people and owners like these need a lesson...so i want to make noise to reveal their actions.... I'm starting to write to the appropriate council and to newspapers and i want to create a fb wall hoping that justice will be done...I'm glad if u and other people who know something could support me ...

I'm only giving this one star because a NO-star option doesn't exist.

The food is disgusting, never fresh, badly thrown together, and the baked potatoes are soggy and inedible.

Bad food, poor service: AVOID this café.

In my opinion this is the case of someone who is getting away with everything. If they really o a good inspection, they will close all of them. Thatyou can afford to open business does not mean you are able to run it. Illegal people, paying cash in hand to Europeans, asking staff to clean on services hours. Rude, impresentable, irresponsible (he doesn't recycle anything at all, Where is the Council here? I always heard that this guy is mad, but it s nutter. Having staff working 8 hours and not giving them the meal until the end of the shift. Not providing with an appropriate hand basin, soap and towel for staff, neither lockable changing room for staff. Aah! This is a good one, Forcing you to eat in the store room like a dog! Not way! At the same place that the dishwasher is throwing dirty water and gases from the broken filter. Why the authorities don't close it down! It is revolting! Why does he not open a Kurdish restaurant and give it a bad image! Not success in a English Tatties, Not in Turkish Anatolia and either Italian Cafe Milano and I am afraid he shows off that he has 4 restaurants, so I am missing the last one!

I have to say that the new owner is doing it really bad.

The staff is not motivated at all as they are treated as dogs. He has people working without uk visa work and believe me, he is taking so much advantage from these people who are currently in problems.

Anatolia, cafe milano and the steak house belong to the same owner. No body should go there.

Very good for baked potatoes (as you'd expect) but those in our group who tried other menu options were very disappointed: The chips were exceedingly greasy, the 100% beef burger was a bit grim with no texture or taste and the mushrooms that came with it were very oily. The Cod looked nothing like the menu picture and was obviously bought in pre battered. I wouldn't go there again.

We ordered a cake there today with my wife and the cream in the cake was clearly rancid.

We told the waitress about it and they ignored our complaint for about five minutes and then the manager came and asked us about it with a very rude attitude claiming that he bought the cake this morning and it should be OK.

Neither the manager nor the waitress didn't even consider an apology. They asked if we wanted something else, but after seeing their behavior we left there not to ever come back again.

Dear erdinc,

I am the proprietor of 'Tatties Cafe, Trinity Street, Cambirdge'

Firstly I must apologise for you experience in Tatties on Sussex street and I am sad to hear what happened but I must make it clear to you along with any other Tatties customer that the Tatties on Trinity street & Sussex Street have no longer any connection what so ever.

We sold The Sussex Street cafe off In August time 2006 and have had problems ever since from customer to suppliers who are weary of trading with us due to the bad reputation The owner of Sussex Street has built up.

Tatties is a generic of Jacket Potato so we can not legally stop anyone using our name.

When we sold the Sussex street branch that was with a gentlemans agreement that they would change the name, menu etc. Sinch selling it they have changed the colours from the 'Tatties Green' to a burgundy colour and added 'Cambridge Ltd' to their logo to avoid any prosecution.

We have heard complaint after complaint about the way they are running the business and at the moment we are really trying to seperate ourselves from them and trying get the word out that we trade completely different as a different business.

We are trying very hard to differentiate ourselves from them with our service and the quality of our meals.

I very much hope that you have not been put off and welcome you into our Tatties, BAKED POTATO MERCHANTS SINCE 1981 - Trinity Street, Cambridge trading on from Tatties Regent Street, Cambridge - The original
