A small cafe on Benet Street (shockingly enough) serving such dinky sweet treats and good quality coffee that locals avoid the nearby chain cafes.

The Venue
Benets has achieved a good balance between character and practicality, giving customers a small dose of both, which charms but doesn't overwhelm.

The small space has been used well, with a few high tables and stools plus a lounge area with low, leather blocks to get comfy on.

Simple dark furniture contrasts with the crisp white walls and, to add some colour, a few plants have been strewn in interesting places.

Mirrors give a feeling of space and, while many do grab and go, a few sip their coffee at the window to enjoy the great view of passers-by.

The People
This place has a typical cafe atmosphere but, thankfully, without the busy hectic feel. Instead, those who are in rush are served quickly, leaving the laidback students, families and friends of all ages to munch their pastry at their own pace.

When it's quiet Benets is a lovely place to relax with a book or a friend but when it’s a bit busier the refreshing buzz is still tame, so it feels just as soothing as before.

The Food
The usual cafe fare is here with fresh sandwiches and panini. These are ideal for a work lunch which tastes homemade.

The sweet goodies available are delicious, such as their not too sweet cinnamon shortbread, or the tasty chocolate chip cookies. So for around £2 you can have a little indulgence, or a bigger one if you opt for a delectable pastry or slice of cake.

The Drink
You can get a decent cup of coffee here for under £2 that’s rich and aromatic and, therefore, evidently from freshly roasted coffee beans.

For something sweeter, there are also milkshakes with flavours like Mars or Oreo for £3.25 that have a thick consistency and a great taste from the good quality ice cream.

The Last Word
A sweet little cafe with a hint of uniqueness about it and a cosy feeling that locals definitely appreciate.
