Visited Cambridge on a mini-break this week. Found restaurant after walking out of a restaurant nearby. Food, wine and service were excellent so we chose to eat there the following evening. What else can I say!!
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant, I have visited 4 times in total, twice for lunch with friends and twice for dinner with my husband - one of which was New Years Eve. Each time I have found the food to be excellent - everything is cooked to perfection and the subtle flavours enhance rather than overpowering the main ingredients. I adore the carrots with dill and potato dauphinoise as sides to anything, and the desserts are to die for. It's not the cheapest restaurant in town, but if you're looking for a meal to remember then I would totally recommend it.
We enjoyed eggs Florentine from the breakfast menu, together with excellent coffee.
As it was 11am the restaurant was quiet, and so the service was faultless.
Great value for money-recommended.

Went here for lunch, admittedly early, but within their advertised lunch hours. Our main complaint was with the service. It took ages to get our initial drinks - so long, in fact, that we thought about going esewhere. The staff seemed more concerned with clearing up the breakfast tables, as these had been left for some time when we walked in.
As others have mentioned, it was uncomfortably hot and we sat in full glare of the sun. No wonder you need the filtered water!
We then had to ask for everything, my lukewarm coffee arrived without a saucer and the excuse for this was that the waitress was new. Hello? Who serves cups without a saucer and a teaspoon just bunged on the table?
After another long wait our mains arrived without my salad. When we asked where it was we were told that it was "coming" in a way that made us feel thoroughly told off. It wasn't coming as they had forgotten it judging by the fact that it arrived when we had virtually finished the other dishes. When it did come, it was tasteless and although billed as tomato and basil, it had one single basil leaf!
The food was barely ok but not brilliant for the price.
Then trying to pay took an age, waitresses we asked for the bill either ignored us or promised to come back and then didn't. There were staff standing about and chatting however but no one really seemed to know what they were supposed to be doing.
We eventually just put the right money down amongst the debris of our meal (not cleared away). Needless to say they missed out on a tip.
Went for dinner and returned for breakfast next day. Food and service were excellent.
Visited Cote Brasserie on the second day of opening and there was six of us in our group. We received excellent service from start to finish. Food was well cooked and tasty and house wine very good for the price paid. Best rib eye steak I have had for a long time. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and would definitely go back again although it was very warm in the restaurant and a bit uncomfortable. Prices very reasonable especially as we used a 50% discount coupon from their website.
