You have to know where to find this place, because you need to duck through the under-passage off Magdalene Street, but it's worth looking for. The staff are always friendly and co-operative, the setting comfortable and the atmosphere nicely relaxing (though sometimes if there is a party it can get noisy!). The menu is very extensive, mostly familiar dishes but well-prepared in generous portions; some vegetable dishes are specially delicious and all the breads seem very fresh and tasty. There is a larger upstairs dining space, for overflow or larger parties. Table service is prompt and friendly, no hurry to move you on after you've finished, the food is attractive without being altogether outstanding but it's fresh and I have enjoyed many dishes here at quite reasonable prices. In my experience the place is notable for its consistently good standard of Indian cooking, and for its really friendly and good-humoured atmosphere.
