I went to Midsummer House with a little apprehension. I expected stuffiness and food snobbery. Nothing could have been further from the truth.
There were four of us, all lovers of good food but not regular Michelin Star diners. We got nothing but friendliness and helpfulness from the staff and the ambience was great.
As for the food - absolutely superb. From the bread rolls through to the stunning dessert selection. Not to mention the after dinner chocolates. Would I go back - I am saving my pennies as we speak.
Final note, the wine choice was fabulous. The range was suited to all wallets and there was enough variety to please the most discerning palate.
