Being in Cambridge for over 20 years, this is probably the worst chinese restaurant I have ever been. It's Saturday, prime time and we were table no.2. Big mistake of ordering dishes from the menu: Coca-cola was the bar-version, but diluted; plain rice was cold, grilled Peking dumplings were room-temperature and 100% not freshly cooked; duck with plum sauce meant duck slivers swimming in a pool of sweet and sour sauce on a bed of uncooked pineapple chunks, that presentation was an eye opener, the worst dish was braised belly pork in preserved mustard vegetables-that was 100% tin food dressed up with chopped spring onion on top and as it wasn't even reheated properly, the fatty layers which no chef can possibly replicate if it's cooked on the hob, were as prominent as you would see from the tin. The vegetables were hot but not what I ordered: pak choi with garlic became chinese cabbage in garlic. The front of house was hopeless, the menu showed a 'signature' dish and he had no idea what it was and said it will look like the photo shown! I would agree with the other reviewers that the food was not MG free. I am Chinese and the meal was an awful experience indeed! If there was a zero rating to choose, this restaurant has certainly earned it.
The best Chinese restaurant in Cambridge, not only delicious food, but something more, learning and practicing Chinese in a real environment, making Chinese friends, joining Chinese forum and art exhibitions...
