This really is the best pub in town. One is spoilt for choice with the ever changing range of ales on offer. There is something there for everyone as well as the ale buffs like myself. It is a shame it is so small and tends to get so packed and could do with a building extension. This is not a problem during summer months due to a fair sized beer garden. But in Summer there is occasionally the nuisance of the local residents unruly brats left unchecked, being the only thing to spoil a visit. This is not a problem at the frequent ale festivals in the summer months.
The food is good and the prices charged are reasonable for both food and drink. Staff are welcoming and the landlord is friendly making this the best pub in the city.
