Poor customer relations and sloppy event management. Do not hire for an event. They have taken my money and won't return my phone calls.

Great pub with great decor.
Excellent food, if a little pricey for a la carte but worth it. £5 lunch menu is limited but for a fiver you can't expect a huge choice.
Service was good, and friendly staff are happy to help and explain the menu in detail.
Well worth a visit for something a little different to the normal 'pub grub'. A vast improvement over the previous occupiers.

Beer ok but Broadside tastes a bit 'thin'. Took 20 minutes for drinks to be brought to the table. Not as well kept as The Castle, only 5 minutes round the corner. Restaurtant was cold at lunchtime; had to keep my coat on.

Only 3 lunchtime mains on the menu for the advertised £5. All other mains £12 - £16. I had lamb with couscous and sweet chilli. Lamb was chewy and gristly, couscous watery, chilli was undetectable.

Other people in our party were told the cottage pie was off at 12.45 (down to 2 lunchtime choices), a late arrival at 1.15pm was told the fishcakes were now off as well. Can't have been more than 15 dinners in the place.

Deserts took a long time to arrive. Didn't arrive till nearly 2pm despite our party arriving shortly after 12.30 and not having starters. This place was poor when it opened.

They've dropped their prices since, but apparently not improved the service, choice and quality of food. Suggest you avoid and go to The Castle instead.
