We recently dropped in on our way back from Cambridge for the day and what a surprise. It's a little gem that you would easily drive past and not notice. The staff were really friendly and the food was excellent quality and good value for money! I wish it was my local.

My partner and myself visited this pub, after a long drive and saw the pub and decided to stop for refreshments. The barman was polite and we ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken and bacon, and Thick cut ham with egg and chips, together with bread and butter.
The food came in good time, and my food was nice and what I expected. My partner on the other hand received her bread which was toasted, and her Caesar Salad (without croutons and cheese) with no bacon. When I questioned the barman about the missing bacon, he returned from the kitchen telling me they had runout of bacon and forgot to tell me.
We finally got a refund for the Salad, with the manager offering gratis on anything, but we declined and swiftly left. The barman's attitude now was very hostile. Needless to say we will not be going back there again.

Dear anthonyb,
thank you for your comments regarding your experience here at The White Horse Inn. I am sorry that your experience did not meet the high standards which I am trying to establish within the premises since taking it over two weeks ago. When I was made aware of the error on our part I clearly did not receive the full picture and for that I can only apologise. In response to this incident we will have a new chef starting with us to ensure that such errors are not repeated and continued staff training will occur to ensure all staff are able to resolve any issues in my absence. If you would be willing to try the pub again I would happily send you a voucher for a meal for two which you can use at your discretion. Should you wish to take advantage of this offer please do not hesitate to contact me via our website www. Thewhitehorseinnbarton. Co. Uk

yours faithfully,
